Specialization in General Surgery

Aside from having the highest standards of human, personal and professional quality, surgeons from the Specialization in General Surgery at Universidad de La Sabana have some very specific differential factors:

In technical terms, surgeons from this program acquire skills in minimally invasive surgery and basic skills in endoscopic management of prevalent surgical entities, with the help of institutions, professionals and state-of-the-art technology for this purpose.

Surgeons who complete this program acquire competencies in differentiating research that integrates the concept of social sciences, education, economics and public health oriented towards the community. In this context, the role of public health and its relations with surgery from the point of view of research, has to do with the study and management of inequalities in health, disparities in coverage, opportunity and access to surgical services, the understanding and analysis of the systems that regulate surgical practice and education, the assessment of safety in the context of productivity, the study of error in surgery and the development of strategies for the institutionalization of prevention.
