Scholarships and Funding

As a manifestation of the commitments of social responsibility of the University of La Sabana, the Master in International Law has implemented a scholarship plan so that more students can benefit from our Program.

In accordance with the general policy of scholarships and financial aid of the University, which benefits employees, relatives of employees and graduates, and in addition to this policy, our Master's Program has the following scholarships:

1. Graduates 15%.

2. Excellence Scholarship 30%.

3. Excellence scholarship for Latin Americans (in association with ICETEX) 100%.

4. Best International Law Scholarship (in association with the Colombian Academy of International Law -ACCOLDI-) 50%.

In addition to the indispensable support of the University, our Masters has special benefactors, who have been interested in promoting the studies of International Law in our country. Among them, we count on the collaboration of the teachers:

Annalisa Savaresi

PhD, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Bachelor in law from the University of Brescia, Master in Law in International and European Law from the University of Durham and Magíster Juris from the same University. Professor Savaresi is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Law at the University of Edinburgh, UK. She has worked for the International Institute for Sustainable Development in Winnipeg, Canada and is a researcher at the International Center for Climate Governance in Venice Italy (2012).

Among its publications are chapters of books, academic articles and reviews related to environmental protection, Human Rights and the environment, sustainable development and international organizations.

Jacques Hartmann

Professor at the University of Dundee in Scotland. Specialized in International Law, lawyer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. He represented Denmark in various international meetings and negotiations, including the advisory opinion on the legality of Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence before the International Court of Justice. He holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge University, where he also worked as an associate researcher at the Lauterpacht Center for International Law, with Professor James Crawford attending the Abyei case before the Permanent Court of Arbitration.

Nitish Monebhurrun

Doctor of International Law, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, (France); Public Law degree, Université Lumière Lyon 2, (France); Master in International Law, Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, (France); and LLM in International Economic Law, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, (France). Has been Assistant Professor at the Law School of the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, (France), and consultant to the United Nations for the Government of Brazil in the Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica, Brazil.

Pablo Saavedra Alessandri

Secretary of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Lawyer of the University Diego Portales (Chile), with masters of the University of Notre Dame. Secretary of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights since 2004. He has served as counsel for the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and counsel for the Reparation and Reconciliation Commission in Chile.

Filippo Fontanelli

Lawyer of the University of Pisa (Italy), LLM of New York University (NYU), as Hauser Global Fellow and PhD (Summa Cum Laude) of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. He worked as a judicial assistant to judges Antonio Cancado Trindade and H.E. Keith at the International Court of Justice. He currently serves as Professor of International Law and Law at the World Trade Organization at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. It has numerous academic publications in these areas.

Makane Môise Mbengue

Professor Mbengue is a renowned Senegalese internationalist, currently associate professor at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and litigant in recent cases before the International Court of Justice. Doctor in Public International Law, summa cum laude, from the University of Geneva, with a Masters in Public Law and LL.M. In Economic Law and Company Law, magna cum laude, from the University of Saint-Louis (Senegal).

Expert of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and expert of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). Director of studies at the prestigious Academy of International Law in The Hague, in the most recent version of 2015. He is also a lecturer in the regional courses in International Law organized by the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs (OLA).
