Negotiation Skills and Strategies: Reaching Agreements in Latin America

Students from different disciplines who are in active practice, related activities or interested in:

  • Learn and practice negotiation techniques that lead to intelligent agreements;
  • Understand and practice inter-cultural negotiation
  • Comprehend particularities of communication, structure, goal-focus, and trust within negotiations in Colombia and Latin America.
  • Analyze the Colombian FARC negotiation process.
  • Provide an interesting experience of interaction with local students, enhancing skills in accordance to class lectures.

Latin American Fashion: Growth, Evolution and Opportunities

 Students from different disciplines who are in active practice, related activities or interested in:

  • Investigate fashion, dress and style in Latin American cultures and societies.
  • Explore the growth of Latin American Fashion in the world, focused on successful cases of study.
  • Give an insight into how the industry works in Latin America and the reality of working in the industry.
  • Combine communication and business knowledge and skills to develop a solid understanding of the fashion industry.

English Proficiency

All participants are required to be proficient in English. Classes will be conducted in English and participants will be called upon to discuss the materials they have studied in class.

You can apply for the 2019 Latin American Studies Program by filling out the online application form (below) and submit all additional documents before November 23, 2018. Please make sure to include all 'additional documents' in your final application, incomplete applications cannot be taken into consideration.

Complete applications will be reviewed upon receipt. If you meet our admissions requirements, you will be considered for the program until the admission capacity has been reached. You will be notified of the outcome of your application within two weeks following the receipt of your completed application. After admission you will receive a letter of offer and, in order to secure your application, we kindly ask admittees to make program payment within four weeks after admission and no later than 10 january,2019. If payment is not received before then, admittees will not be able to attend the program and will be excluded from the admittees list.

Registration, payment and cancellation policies

  • After registration, candidates will be notified of admission to the program within 2 weeks of their application.
  • In order to secure their place, participants need to make payment within four weeks of confirmation of admission. In absence of this deposit, Universidad de La Sabana cannot guarantee a place on the program.

  • The remittance should state: 'Program Fee Latin American Studies Program at Universidad de La Sabana' and mention the name of the participant.
  • Any transaction costs with respect to international banking transactions will be borne by the participant. When making an international payment your bank will ask you to indicate how you will pay the costs for the transaction. 
  • It is not possible to cancel your place on the Program, except in cases of serious exceptional circumstances for which extensive and satisfactory documented proof must be submitted to the coordinator by registered mail. Cancellation by the participant of his/her place on the Program after January 10, 2019 will not entitle the participant to any refund. The only exception to this rule is in the above-mentioned case. Only if these conditions have been met is the participant entitled to a refund up to a maximum of 90% of the payment. A penalty fee of 10% will be charged.
  • The final deadline for application is 23 November 2018.
  • The final deadline for payment is 10 January 2019.
  • Late applications (after 23 november 2018) will be taken into consideration if places are still available. Full payment must be made within four weeks of admission, no refunds will be made.
  • Participants agree to abide by all decisions as decreed by the executive board of directors.
  • The Latin American Studies Program 2019 courses will be delivered if both - by separate - meet a minimum of five students. If the courses are not able to meet minimum number of students, participants will be notified within one week after application deadline. Any payments done by participants will be reimbursed. Participants could choose to participate from other available LASP courses if his/her course was not opened.
