If the student completes the Spanish course at the University, he will receive a certificate for the number of classroom-hours taken, and the level of Spanish achieved. The University will hold regular examinations, or on request, for the international diploma in Spanish (DIE). This is an internationally-recognized test for which the University is an accredited examining centre.

3. Continuing Education
The Department of Continued Education offers year-round open courses, in free or special formats, to meet the needs for formation and updating of Colombian or foreign students. The courses are given in a range of subjects including medical sciences, social sciences, or administration, on the one hand, or languages, arts and sport on the other. There are also specialized academic areas such as history, theology, systems, basketball, volleyball, football, dance, mathematics, public policy, anthropology, editing, etc. At the end of these courses, we give certificates of attendance and/or "Pass" classifications, in accordance with the requirements of each, but none of these courses offers a degree qualification. Candidates for any of these courses will have to take an examination of knowledge of Spanish. If the candidate shows an appropriate level of the language, a course can be taken, and the student will receive a certificate of attendance and a mark. If the level of language is not sufficient to take the course, the student may attend, but will receive only a certificate of attendance.
